Stephen Fronefield, DVM, ABVP-avian

      Dr. Fronefield graduated from Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.  He also received a Bachelor's of Science degree in chemistry while attending Auburn University.  He opened ABC Animal & Bird Clinic in Sugar Land in 1995, and  moved into their beautiful new facilities in 2000.  Dr. Fronefield became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners specializing in avian practice in 1998.   He is one of only nine veterinarians in the state of Texas that hold this specialty certification.  He has a special interest in imaging techniques for diagnostic evaluation of his patients.  This includes digital radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy.

      Dr. Fronefield's pet population at home consist of two poodles (Jesy and Kate), three Giant Geckos (Velvet, Hershey and Spot) and two fresh water aquariums.  He has two young boys and is involved with their school, boy scouts, swim team and baseball.  His wife works at home and behind the scenes to support clinic operations.  Dr. Fronefield enjoys and appreciates time he can spend with his family.  He also enjoys camping, fishing, cycling and riding his motorcycle. 


Kimberly Roset, DVM

      Dr. Roset, a 2001 graduate of Texas A&M, grew up in the Austin area and attended Texas A&M University, where she obtained two bachelor degrees and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.  While attending Texas A&M, she was involved in numerous  organizations which furthered her knowledge of avian and exotic medicine and spent her summers in avian research.  After graduation in 2001, she joined ABC Animal & Bird Clinic and has enjoyed seeing many different species of companion small animals.  In addition to her interests in birds and exotic pets, Dr. Roset also enjoys the challenge of feline medicine, dentistry, surgery, and ultrasonic imaging.  She is currently working toward her board certification in avian medicine.


      In addition to a busy professional life, Dr. Roset also shares her house with a husband and two young boys (Aidan and Ian).  She has 3 cats who tolerate the humans in their house and 2 Australian Shepherds.  Furthermore, she enjoys traveling and outdoor activities such as gardening, scuba diving, skiing, cycling, and sailing.

 
   


Janet Fisher, DVM

      Dr. Janet Fisher, a 1977 graduate of Texas A&M , previously had her own practice for 25 years, and practiced in emergency medicine for several years. She decided to join ABC Animal and Bird Clinic in 2006 to expand her horizons to include avian and exotic medicine.  Dr. Fisher bred, obedience trained and showed Dobermans for 20 years, producing several champions during that time. Dr. Fisher is a previous board member of Harris County Veterinary Medical Association, and was the past president of HCVMF.  She is a member of TVMA, AAV, HCVMA, AFA, AVMA and the Fort Bend Optimist Club.  She is also a neighborhood representative for her neighborhood.

     
      She enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice especially internal medicine, surgery and avian medicine. She enjoys gardening, dancing and spoiling her pets. She lives with her two cats (Jinx and Briggs), three Sun Conures (Pretzel, Frito and Twix), and two Amazon parrots (Sprite and Fresca).
She is also an avid gardner with aspirations of being a master gardener.  She also enjoys assisting her elderly mother by visiting her daily.

Jessica Michalec, DVM

      Dr. Jessica Michalec was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. She attended Texas A&M University for both her bachelor's and professional degree, graduating as a DVM in 2005. Since that time, Dr. Michalec has been an associate of ABC Animal & Bird Clinic. She is also the presiding veterinarian for the TWRC. Dr. Michalec holds memberships in the following organizations: AVMA , TVMA, AAV, AEMV, AAWV, AVHS, and the Humane Society. Dr. Michalec is currently pursuing board certification in Exotic Companion Mammal species. Her other interests include behavior, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery.

      Dr. Michalec and her husband Chris have one child, James Ryan Michalec and five "furry" children, two Malteses (Sprocket and Newton), two cats (Jazz and Hitchcock), and a husky mix named Belle.  Dr. Michalec's personal interests include reading, writing, poetry, sewing, painting, movies, and volunteering with children's or conservation organizations.
